The Background

BaseCamp Live had built a strong podcast with an existing audience and sponsor base, but the production process had become too labor-intensive to sustain efficiently. The show needed a better way to manage guest sourcing, pre-production, post-production, and promotion—while also preparing for future growth through video, marketing expansion, and a stronger sponsorship model.

The Challenge

The issue was not content quality. It was production drag. Too much of the workflow depended on manual effort, which slowed the team down and made the show harder to scale. At the same time, BaseCamp Live needed a clearer plan for growth: improved discoverability, better systems for reaching new audiences, a more repeatable advertising framework, and a path toward launching video without adding unnecessary complexity.

Our Approach

Echo + Ember stepped in to take over production and build a stronger operating system around the show. We created n8n workflows to automate key tasks across guest sourcing, pre-production, communication, and post-production delivery. We also set up guest follow-up workflows so each guest automatically received links and sharing information after their episode aired, making the process more efficient and more hospitable.

Beyond production, we refreshed the website, improved SEO, created a content planning system and release schedule, and completed a light brand refresh for the show. We also developed a strategic expansion plan that included video launch recommendations, studio design proposals, equipment guidance, audience analysis, and a marketing plan for entering new markets. On the revenue side, we built a sponsorship framework that retained three existing sponsors and added four more.

The Outcome

  • Timeline 3 Months
  • Date Fall 2025

The result was a leaner, more scalable podcast operation with a clearer path for growth. Production time decreased by 48%, listeners increased by 27%, and the sponsorship program grew from three sponsors to seven.

Just as importantly, the new workflows made the show easier to run and created a stronger guest experience—turning a labor-heavy process into a more efficient content system with room to expand.
